Classes are small (4 pairs max, 2 pair minimum), which provides for lots of individual attention. You will receive information for the mother and coach on nutrition, exercise, relaxation practice, labor rehearsals, birth plans, training for the coach on labor and birth, and much much more…
I use many different types of visual teaching aids during classes, which include videos to enrich and enhance the learning experience. I understand that some people are very uncomfortable with the idea of watching birth videos (I was one of them) and I want to respect your personal boundaries. If at any time during any of the birth videos you feel the need to excuse yourself, please have/take the freedom to do so. I hope that by the time we are finished with all 12 of our classes that you will have watched at least 1 entire natural birth because my goal is to help you gain a full and complete understanding of the amazing process that women's bodies are capable of.
I will teach you about the natural process of birth and share information on how to avoid unnecessary pain and ways to handle positive pain (yes there is such a thing!). Coaches are taught, encouraged and empowered on how to best support a mother throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery, as well as how to become her #1 advocate during labor and birth.
The cost for one 12 week series is $305. Your materials include 1 student workbook, 1 copy of "Natural Childbirth The Bradley Way" by Susan McCutcheon, 1 copy of "Husband Coached Childbirth" by Dr. Robert Bradley, handouts (weekly nutrition sheets, exercise check off sheets, coach's cues, stages of labor, etc), as well as photocopy access to a large collection of medical studies, newspaper articles, recipes and local resources for a healthy family and healthy home.
A non-refundable $65 deposit is due 2 weeks prior to our first class. The deposit covers the cost of your materials and guarantees your spot in class. I can only accommodate 3 couples, so if your deposit is not received in the 2 week time frame your spot may be given to the next deposit that arrives. Full payment is required before the beginning of the first class.
I teach out of my home, which is 2 dog friendly and non smoking.
